Privacy Policy

BoomRadar is a news aggregation service. This policy explains what data we collect (very little), what we do with it, and your rights.

1. What we are

BoomRadar is a read-only aggregator. We collect publicly available news headlines and metadata from third-party publishers, cluster them into stories, and display them alongside political bias ratings and prediction market data. We do not publish original articles, and we do not reproduce full article text. Every story links directly to the original publisher.

2. Data we collect

We collect minimal data:

  • Optional account. BoomRadar offers optional sign-in via Clerk for premium features. If you create an account, we store only your email address and role metadata (reader / premium / superuser). You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings.
  • Local storage. Your theme preference (dark / light / system) is stored in your browser's localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider may log standard HTTP request data (IP address, User-Agent, timestamp) for security and uptime purposes. These logs are not shared and are retained for a maximum of 30 days.
  • No cookies. We do not set any tracking, analytics, or advertising cookies.

3. Third-party content & links

Each article displayed on BoomRadar links to an external publisher. Once you click through to an external site, that site's own privacy policy applies. We have no control over third-party websites. External links open in a new tab with rel="noopener noreferrer" to protect your browser session.

4. Prediction market data

Odds data is sourced from Polymarket via their public API. We display this data read-only. We are not affiliated with Polymarket. Interacting with Polymarket's own platform is subject to their terms and privacy policy.

5. Analytics

We currently do not use any third-party analytics (e.g. Google Analytics). If we introduce analytics in the future, this policy will be updated and you will be notified via a banner on the site.

6. Advertising

The site contains placeholder advertisement slots. If live advertising is introduced, only non-personalised contextual ads will be used. We will not integrate any behavioural tracking or audience profiling for advertising purposes without explicit disclosure here.

7. Children's privacy

BoomRadar is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal data about you to access, correct, or delete. If you believe we hold any data about you, or have any privacy concern, contact us at the address below.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of BoomRadar after a policy change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
